Triangle Strategy is available only on Nintendo Switch as a digital and physical release for £49. Maneuver characters around multi-tiered maps to gain the upper hand. From the retro-inspired graphics, the avalanche of dialog and world-building to the layered and complicated combat system it feels very much like a game from a bygone era and that's not at all a bad thing. So the game just ends up feeling really imbalancedwhich. But, the story did trip over itself, and specific gameplay mechanics could’ve used a bit more refining. It was a grand story, a fun challenge, and had characters I very much enjoyed meeting. Triangle Strategy is a fantastic title for the Switch and definitely one for old school gamers. Most sessions I had with Triangle Strategy, for about an hour of gameplay, I maybe had one combat encounter that lasted maybe 15 minutes. All in all, Triangle Strategy was a very worthy game, and I’m glad I spent 36 hours in my playthrough of it.
